but co-op locks you in to certain companies.

chaikin, you can also do vac work, and get paid separately, so you end up with more - plus you can travel a lot more in summer hols...
Mate I don't know why you're in this thread talking about Harvard and all these American colleges, and telling people about the disadvantages of the Co-op Scholarship Program.

Bottom line is that you get 15 grand tax free a year. And all you have to do is study and do a few internships(which btw in any country, don't pay well at all, if anything).

smec pays ~$16k for their vac workers. bhp/xstrata pay more.

everyone knows about the advantages of co-op, i'm just saying i would pick mc over co-op...

i don't know what you're doing saying random stuff that's really simplistic....

Malcolm Chaikin - some crazy scholarship that is worth 15000 that doesn't restrict u from doing whatever course u want to do (Except that u need to do engineering or science-related degree)

i got a shortlist for BIT but i also had a mech eng interview but i have no info about it on the offers page... if i didnt get an offer shouldnt i hav a 'sorry ur unsuccessful' message thing??? can some 1 please answer that

no i dnt want both... but i remember at the briefing day thing they sed u wuld get an 'unsuccessful' notice... the only reason i ask is bcoz i did 100 times better in my engo interview than the BIT one and i got a shortlist offer for BIT...i also got two emails... maybe my page hasnt been updated yet

Kind of reeling in a state of disbelief. >.>

who evers got an offer for co op: take it (unless its not the course you want)

75k for 68 weeks work (even less)

~57k p/a TAX FREE

yeah Im not interested in science courses so Im very happy with co-op :D

hi guys, i am a yr 11 going on to yr 12 student, just would like to know what i need to do besides study to get in to coop unsw? anything like leadership camps or community work?
