    What to do..? ho hum...

nope, they start from square one. a bit of knowledge on how to turn it on and simple word processing helps, but really they dont assume anything. varies between course and uni, but typically a bit of calculus, algebra and discrete maths usually. most of it is pretty simple, its rare you'd be...

    Jobs in Australia

.net getting you $115k is bullshit. the money is overseas unless you're really good, but thats true with most fields, not just IT. the exceptions would be perhaps mining (its big in au, but not really for IT), and in IT perhaps in sales. theres lots of shit jobs in IT, if you have a degree...

How much does a financial planner charge?

they dont charge anything, and reccomend the products that get them the highest commission regardless of your financial situation and needs. finding an independant financial advisor is hard, your best bet is to ask people you know/trust. i went to my banks one (westpac) and all she did was...

i was a kitchenhand in a cafe for a few years, it was great. the chefs were all cool and all the other staff were uni students as well, pretty good vibe. theres quiet times too, for instance sunday mornings we'd get our first customer about 11 and we opened at 9, so we'd just sit around in the...

    200 level electives?

yeah numerical computing. if you're good at maths its easy. it should be a math unit, really. there are basically a lot of mathematical proofs that you have to remember. i made the mistake of studying it like a comp unit, when i shouldve studied it like a math unit (remembering proofs and how...

    200 level electives?

math 135 goes off the chen notes, which are great summaries but pretty bad as a text. you'll have 6 quizzes throughout semester that may be compulsory (ie contribute to your final mark), depending on who is teaching it. if ron anderson is taking it, steer clear, he's a nazi asshole. if you're...

whats differnet to B info tech & B info sys degree

yep i got 71.2 for my UAI id rate macuni higher than usyd, but lower than unsw/uts. if you're thinking macuni, look at the entry UAI for a BSc. you can do all the same units as a BCompSci, the maths might be a killer though.
