No, they'll let you in as long as you've done 3U Mathematics and got a decent UAI (for 2004, it was 97.25).

No, no, and no.
We don't crunch numbers.
Accounting is boring and mindless and pays not well.
Actuarial is interesting and difficult (immensely, supposedly) and pays well.

[ Check out the "Decent Salary" thread in NS ]

Does 80K sound decent enough with full qualifications, only?

Out of the tutoring 'colleges' I would say Pre-Uni is the best. I went to North Shore for a bit a few years ago, it's not that bad in terms of lesson plan since they cover things pretty well (this is like in Yr7 so I don't know about senior years) but they seem to have too many branches and not enough quality teachers. They all emit the aura of 'commercial tuition' - bulk classes with rising fees.

I guess in primary school, and pre-selective tuition, tuition colleges help out heaps cause they drum the basics in. After about Yr9 though, I've found it's more beneficial to switch to small scale tuitions who really care about how well you do.

No, UNSW and ANU also offer it. Although if you want quality Actuarial teaching Macq is the only place. :)
