so wat exactly is a nerd......i know ppl who got 99.9, 99.95.....and theyre not nerdy...theyre pretty cool......they do normal things that normal teenagers do....then we come to the question of wat exactly is "normal" and everyone has theyre own definition of normal.....make friends with who u feel comfortable with....and do not base ur decison on their academic achievment......thats just shallow......
exactly why we should burn their houses.

Loosen up kids, don't take it as a personal insult -

I totally understand what you're saying fat - it's not about image it's about the level of dedication to study (party vs stay home kinda stuff).

My uncle has done a degree at Usyd and then went on to do UNSW Law postgrad and his recomendation is Sydney because it's a whole lot less clique-y. At UNSW socialising is based a lot on ethnic groups which can make it hard to find your niche (don't shoot the messenger).

I'd say with almost 50,000 students you can't go too far with Usyd...but I'm just saying that because that's where I'll end up next year. And if you're staying on campus then that's a whole new ball game.

Are you studying law?

you go to whatever uni your degree is suited to, and convenience is probably significant, you dont want to spend an hour travelling to a un-nerdy uni...and some nerds are naturally smart, and have a wholesome social life thank u very much

elven chainmail?? +1 mace?? ...... is that from d & d
Yes. Elven chainmail typically has a lower AC than normal chainmail, and allows thieves and mages to use their abilities while wearing it, remembering, though they must be dual or multiclassed with a class that can wear chainmail, such as clerics or fighters. A +1 mace means a mace which is enchanted to give a +1 bonus to damage and to hit, as well as being magical +1 so it can hit weakly magical creatures whereas a mundane mace would not do any damaged.

That's for AD&D, anyway.

Ew, I feel so dirty for typing that.

Nerdiness is not a contagious disease. If you see nerds, you won't suddenly catch it and become a nerd.

But hey, you're at least good for a laugh, albeit laced with pity.

i understand wat fat is saying, u would want to meet ppl at uni who like to hav fun and not study all the time. i dont think usyd is full of geeks. isnt it suppose to be a very social uni. eventhough my mates reckon usyd is just full off nerds(not my opinion).

I don't know.

Sorry if she's you're friend. I really don't like her, and the way she got her results through the year, but I won't get into it.

I'm sure she's doing a great course. Good for her.

Hi, I don't intentionally mean to Offend anyone:
But I'm in a bit of a dilemma choosing wat uni to go to..
I've heard that there are SO MANY "nerds" who go to Syd, thus seriously Putting me off the idea of going to Syd- is this true??
I'm not worrieD about wat uni i attend OR Its reputation, but would rather go to a uni in which the students have some social life, as opposed to going to a uni like sydney where students do nothing but STUDY, study... and more study.
Is this a false misconception for syd students? help.
Fat.
what is wrong with nerds? I love nerds.

look fat. while u dont want to be friends with nerds, nerds prob dont want to be friends with u. u r judging them and they prob judge u (u call urself fat...) besides, if u end up at one of those unis and someone is posting this next yr, dont get offended but u will be grouped as a nerd even if u arent. so why dont u go there, and prove not every1 is nerds.

i am not a nerd at all, i didnt study much, i went to parties and the movies nights b4 the trial exams, and spent every one of the days between exams with friends. but when it came down to it, i still managed to do well enough to get into the course i wanted at newcastle.

apparently noone at newy is a brainy nerd, maybe u should go there.

but then ppl will prob say newy has too many fat ppl and they will end up choosin the nerds uni over ur one, bcos there is prob more food at the other unis.

pfft.
wat u r sayin is entrirely rediculous and stupid.

Isn't that a bad thing? More smart people means a better reputation for the university. And in the end Uni's are about learning.

Sometimes I wonder why people want to go to uni anyway - it's about education first, not partying etc. Although you want to of course have some fun your first priority should be picking the uni that will give you the best education.

haha this is the most stupid thread ever
whoever started this thread needs to get themselves some common sense
i don't know, try going to o-week and information days etc.. chances are the majority of school leavers are just like you. it's very hard to see someone and spot them as being a nerd or a geek
