A few times someone didn't do enough work and she submit the paper without putting their name on it (meaning an academic counsel for the guy who didn't work).

That is interesting to note, because I have never heard any of the mature aged students in my classes say a single word.

ooo that reminds me from my dodgy theory in another topic we had... I know somone who left school in yr 11, and after doing a traineeship he got a fully paid IT job (contract) he then started applying for other jobs (going for a more permanent position) and he got the first job he applied for, which is APS level 5...

My theory, which I will admit is dodge, is that without finishing school and going to uni he will be earning more money than any of his classmates. I am sticking by this based on the IT field only (cos it is impossible to judge earning acropss fields, because, as I said, some are just a cut above the rest) because one of his old bosses (who is now on around 100k) told him how great it was he got the new job because he finished year 12 then did an IT course at uni and it still took him a few years to get to aps level 5 (so going on my theory, he has a 6 or 7 year headstart on his classmates that go to uni to do IT in reaching asp level 5)

Going even more dodge... you could also just take the thoery on face value... he didn't even get a UAI and he makes 4 or 5 times as much as the 99.99ers in his cohort that are still struggling students at uni

As for a uni storey, my torts lecturer is in love with justice kirby and everytime she tells us about one of his judgements she puts his picture up on the overheard (she has done this for a few other ppl too) and has a little drum and gives us a drumroll for the really important cases...

she is also a good laugh talking about her personal experiences (like 'yesterday I went to the shops...') where she feels she could have had an action under tort law... its quite amusing to hear her say it gives her a good laugh to watch how well people behave after the tells them she teaches the laws of negligence at uni

Lol. There's just no correcting tutors sometimes, they know their stuff. In English tutorials, it's best because then we can offer our own viewpoints on a particular poem or story, and it CAN differ from the tutor's viewpoints. But in fact finding tutorials, it's hard to argue with the tutor about the facts.

yea EXACTLY.....but these girls with big egos cant stand it when that happenz!

Rest assured santaslayer, we should both earn more money within a few years of finishing our degrees than the average IT specialist

Having said that, I still rekon it will be 10+ years before my salary ever matches his, but it will get there eventually, and probably overtake it in the end...

Should they have? The HSC subjects don't matter nearly as much as the performance in first semester subjects (since they're all designed more or less as an introduction to your field, as well as an attempt to get everyone on the same level).

and yeah (i don't mean to offend anyone here), most of the asian 4u maths students in my year got >95... and honestly, talking to them is like talking to a brick wall, even when talking in chinese. i'm not saying that everyone who gets over 95 is unsociable etc, but a high UAI doesn't necessarily mean that youre going to be more successful than someone who didn't get a high uai
