i hear you. i am falling apart but whats killing me is that shes content with just talking with her friends everyday, and this doesn't seem to be having the same effect on her as it's having on me.

Nosa, don't worry about it too much. It's 77 days till the HSC. People are stressed. I understand how it feels to have a boyfriend at this time, and as long as you're there for each other, you'll make it through.

There's nothing wrong with her talking to her friends. Don't cause any fights by taking it the wrong way. You should also be concentrating on your studies, no matter how confident you are. Let her have the space you want, and take advantage of your own space. Help her and be there for her when necessary, but don't make her feel pressure from two sources. :)

LOL, my dad's in the other room giving his friend love advice.

ROFL that is hilarious. I realise that as each day passes by, I grow slower and slower until I'm unable to process the simple things in life.

That's understandable, but you need to consider what works for her. In this case, maybe you can talk to her and compromise? Maybe you guys can study together, so you get your together-time, and she gets her work done. :)

The worst is a bad break up before the HSC cause ur mind would be on the person u were seeing and not fully concentrated on the exams. Not a good idea to go "looking" just before the HSC for this reason but if u can handle it go for it. Should not just break up for the sake of it but for those who intend starting a relationship be warned, i know some really bad stories about this.

You don't have to be studying the same thing. I study with my boyfriend. I'm in year 12, he's in second year uni. When you're studying, you don't really talk anyway. :p

it can work - if shes stressed out completely and all u see of her or hear from her is 15 minutes a week then by my books uve already gone on a break. I did it through my hsc and i managed to acheive my goal.

I wouldn't consider that a break. If my boyfriend saw me that often, that 15 minutes would be the happiest 15 minutes of my week. :D

Breaking up a relationship that you really do value is not a smart thing to do. If it's just a very casual relationship, or an on-and-off one, then it's up to the couple to decide.

I thought juggling study and bf would be hard, but it's actually been pretty damn easy. I still talk to him everyday (albeit slightly shorter on some days than others) and study during the allocated times I plan in my head. No biggie. Everyone needs a break, and during those breaks it's great to talk to him and my girlfriends and just chillax. I think if he said we should take a 'break' for exams I'd slap him upside the head and tell him to get a life. You can have a social life during the HSC! Just get your priorities straight.

Well we were both thinking of the break.
And we do have social lives....

if you cant handle a relationship during the HSC you are probably too immature for a relationship. Its like saying you cant handle life, seriously the HSC aint the be all and end all, it aint really that stressful and things get alot worse the older you get.

Are you going to break up with your girlfriend when uni half-yearlies are on? they are more stressfull and there is more riding on them. what about when you are married? going to get a divorce because work is placing too much pressure on you to get "the project" done?

i will give you a break cause it seems u arent actually all fazed and only considering it for your girlfriend, but if any1 wants to break up cause its too stressful for them personally, then i would say yes it would be a good idea and dont enter a relationship again until you are sure you are mature enough to handle it through thick and thin

That's very true. Well said.

Learning to balance a relationship with the HSC is only the beginning. This balance is required throughout your life, not just these few years. You can't always take the easy way out.

... So until next time, take care of yourselves, and each other. :D
