I would have thought hippies would vote Greens.
For the large part they do, which is why i pulled Katie up on saying they vote labor. Some however are into the urban progressive, middle class save the whales up until the point it costs me something kind of hippies who vote for small l liberals.

Have you ever heard a conversation with a dry liberal and a hippie? They never end well.

hippies vote greens but where do green preferences go guys

and hippies know where they will go
Your assuming all greens votes are from hippies. The preferences from actual hippies is probably around half labor, a third liberal and the rest minor parties(do we call the dems a minor party these days?). Greens voters full stop are more 80% ALP.

Hippies generally don't like the way the unions throttle attempts to preserve the environment and feel a pang of sympathy for Petro and his friends for leading the revolt when the ALP wouldn't.

Here are some generalization which I believe are basically true:

-Very poor people vote labor
-Working class people mainly vote labor or one nation and other redneck parties.
-Middle class people are mixed, but more liberal.
-Upper middle class people overwhelmingly vote liberal.
-Highly educated people and inner city people vote labor or greens.
-Rural people vote liberal, national or one nation.

I hope you weren't saying that Labor was a redneck party. Also, highly educated people also vote for the liberals, this you cannot deny. Many of those highly educated people are also upper middle class, hence they vote liberal.

And so society will be until under a glorious leader the working class will organise themselves, throw you from you castle, burn your standards and start a new society from the grassroots, a greater society where everyone man works together for the benefit of his comrade, forming a glorious state where we all move forward together as one, sustainably and morally. We will spread word of our glorious revolution and all around the world our glorious new philosophy will supplant the evils of the capitalist menace and comrade by the time we start to falter ever so slightly the grand design will have spread to every corner of the world and will pull us back into line and so the permanent revolution will continue forever and ever.

Well guess what? if the working class work really hard and save their money, THEY BECOME RICH. its all relevent if a person works harder and longer than others they r going to become more wealthy, how do u think rich people became rich in the first place? THEY WORKED. sure some people inherite their wealth but soon enough it will run out. its onli natural that hard working people want to look after themselves and their hard earned money

Stupid liberal, when will you people ever learn. I feel I have allready responded sufficiently to more cogent arguements from the anarchist mob on this site that said more or elss wht you tried to say. Thus I simply advise you to read animal farm and shutup. Four Legs Good, Two Legs Bad.

In my experience, I've come to assume people's political stance by the way they are dressed (which isn't neccessarily indicative of socio-economic status)

i.e. a guy in my politics tutorial turned up to first lesson with a suit on. The first thing I said to him was "so... you're a conservative?". To which he looked at my red shirt and asked "and you're a socialist?". My assumption was right and his was wrong. And further, he turned out to be an ass and a half.

Therefore, libs suck :rudolf:

I live in the nice end of the Western Suburbs, in a quiet street with big houses which is opposite a reserve, I go to a same sex catholic school, my mother is a housewife and guess what? My parents vote for Labor.

What a shock to the system. They don't receive any pay outs, but that's not what they're concerned about. Not to say that they're over the moon happy with Rudd, but their happier with Howard gone, even if they were 'taken care of.'

I don't think I'll ever be a Liberal voter to be honest.
I don't want to even enroll haha.
