how many people have just eaten up the media induced frenzy of mass-marketing that is climate change, how many tax-dollars must be wasted on fighting a non-existant problem.....or does the problem exist? discuss

Climate change, or global warming, has always existed, that is fact. The question is whether humans are heightening a natural phenomenon, which is also true. The media takes advantage, but what doesn't it take advantage of?

yes that sounds better.

but global warming does exist, and the climate does change, and will always.

a load of crap!

we must also pose the question, is global warming a problem in the long term? the answer is probably not

I believe we should look to history, like our dear friend Al Gore.

He seems to have skipped over the fact the Mesozoic had a pretty warm climate though. I wonder, did the dinosaurs have cars and CFCs?

nah, the last report about the dangers of global cooling came out in the late 70's as far as i am aware!

interestingly....talking to a climate change scientist, he told me that we have doubled the amount of co2 in the air since the introduction of the motor car and it is likely to got up another 1200% this seems abit unlikely cos there no way we have that many fossil fuels left....he also told me that global warming will make ths oceans more acidic despite that fact that there is a natural buffer

rate of climate change before like, 1950 - 0.0000000001% rise per year
rate of climate change after like, 1950 - 1% rise per year

not exact numbers but that's the gist. so yeah, i'd say it's real.

I'm not saying it isn't :)

300 years ago we didn't think animals could adapt to become different things.

Then Darwin published his theory of natural selection.

Dynamism in work, yes?

Personally, I reckon it's a little conceited to suggest that climate change exists whereby humanity has literally affected the course of something as omnipresent and ageless as the earth even though our species has been in existence for a much shorter period of time. I reckon it's more to do with changes within the earth rather than our doing.

i can't click the yes option because it is spelt wrong : ((((((((

first thing that has to mentioned is the supporting data showing global warming and climate change. these models are extremely complex and very hard to interpret and the margin of error is fairly significant, also different models have rather different results so at the end of the day it does come down to giving the benefit of the doubt.

to suggest that climate change is caused exclusively by human impact is a sweeping statement, obviously there are natural factors like volcanic emissions, variations in solar output, continental drift, orbital characteristics etc.

but ozone thinning caused by CFCs, and a significant amount of CO2, methane emissions and other particulates which trap long wave radiation are caused by us, and these have a quicker effect on climate.

that is just a quick summary on global effects, though when looking at regional climate change the list of contributing factors is more than enough to recognise the direct effects of human impact on climate.

The existence and effects of anthropogenic climate change are well documented and pretty fucking obvious.

If you still insist on denying its existence, then you're either wilfully ignorant or a daft cunt
