Depends on the kind of girl you want to pick up. I was originally going to post 350/370z but then saw P-plate friendly only so I'd say either an Integra or a BMW e46 Coupe e.g. 330Ci, (or e92 if you can afford it)...

If you can be bothered to continously maintain it, the RX8 is also pretty nice.

Not all P Plater friendly and the non-turbo models are slow. I'd rate a DC5 though.
This. Was so close to buying a DC5. Now I want a Lancer or 370z (anyone want to buy it for me?)

if you want the most bang for your buck, ie, picks ups per dollar spent

id go with a bmw z4, or an alfa romeo spider

also rebecca black would easily be able to decide where to sit

yuck

depends on what women you are targetting

clearly any woman who is attracted to you due to your car is not worth picking up anyway so its a silly question but

bogans; wbs, vs commodores with 20s etc ew
wogs/gooks; lancers with cannons, integras, na skylines (lol)

Everyone in this thread is making uneducated posts.

I'll improve it.

Corolla AE92. Lek shu bby?

Daihatsu Charade

Impreza (best car for driving down Burwood road or Church Street)

Nissan Skyline

Honda CRX (make sure you don't bring a mate)

Cars NOT to get:

Hyundai Coupe
Hyundai Excel
Toyota Celica (except for the 80s model)

I was considering celica (the model below the 4-eye one)
But they've become cliche to me, everyone starts off with a celica :S...

I also wanted a Celica at one point. Cheap, reliable, Toyota and good fuel consumption for a sports car. Whats not to love? Well..the looks wore off for me :(

I really like the Supra design though... even 10+ years on, it still looks hot (kinda like an RX-7) but with more reliability. Even the NA Supras are built tough so that once you get off P's, if you are so inclined, you can turbocharge it.
