I was just wondering can someone still get 99.95 ATAR, if they bombed all their assessments but got 100% in their trials with a weighting of 40% and also the HSC?

Depends on the performance of your peers.

If they performed consistently good over the year (including trials), doesnt matter if you get 100% your rank will still be poor, meaning chances of you getting 99.5% are low.

In other words, your dreaming.

Well if your assessment rank is 1 after trial, i.e. you completely raped your cohort.

Ah k, but in my case 4 people are complete idiots who come to school because they have nothing better to do. They will pull me down so much ;(

Your school mark gets moderated, and the person coming 1st internally will get the top mark externally.

Can I still make it? Although I've bombed extension 1 and 2 maths, but in my trials and HSC I get 100%?

My bomb is between 40-60%.
Of course I'm not bombing easy subjects like general Maths, I'll be gone by then.
probably not :(

very, very low chance

As I've stated before it depends on your final assessment rank.

I've always believed that the HSC is about consistency - consistently doing well.

Given that, I'd say, it's extremely unlikely.

Agreed

The HSC is pretty much consistant, if you get band 5 all year in all your subjects, you most likely get 80-90 as a ATAR
