I swear those questions were so deceptive, they looked easy and then, actually really difficult!
Bit disappointed as I do MX1, think I got a raw mark of 70

I realised they didn't really have many questions on coordinate geometry, stat/infexion/concavity and locus because they were easy marks and when they did have it, it was so simple that it was only worth 1-2 marks.

I found question 14 one of the harder questions in the paper. Especially with that stupid car question involving max/min -_- Also the trout/carp question and the probability question when they asked for the eventual probability was challenging. I still liked this years paper than last year considering I hate locus
Yeah question 14 was really hard.

i got 21.21cm
Didn't the question say exact value? :s

That paper was hard. Didn't get to attempt 10 marks worth of questions, when I usually finish trials in 1.5 hours.

What did everyone get for the probability question part iii?

what did everyone get for the first question of Q16.
I integrated to get f(x) = 2x^2-3x+C. I solved that simultaneously with y=5x-7, since they intersect and formed the equation of 2x^2-8x+(C-7) = 0. I then used the discriminant = 0 to find C and got f(x)=2x^2-3x+1.

Made an account just to rage at this question...

For the Q16 fish question,

Trout Population was = 375-e^0.04t

that means initial trout population (at t=0) was 375-e^0

or 374, right?

its just 1 mark in the many that i cannot possibly got, but why the heck would bos do something as stupid as a kaizo trap in here??

For the integration by volume one - did you guys get something like 1/3(32*pi + 2^(9/2)*pi) u^3?

Yeah I do MX1 and I found it pretty tough, especially when compared with most past-HSC 2U papers. They really mixed it up with the questions and asked them in different ways to what we're used to. I'm expecting mid-high 80's at the moment

as expected... could do most of it...didn't know how to approach about 3-5 questions (well, parts of the bigger 'questions). Application of calculus is usually my strong point but I found the trout question really hard :/ could not do the last 2 parts. Overall, it was a fair exam.
