What would you expect marks to be allocated to for Q13 c) iii)?

hmm so for the circle locus question (13 c. iii.) is the restriction on the locus x=/=0 ? if yes, would we lose a mark for not putting that restriction even if we got the equation of the circle?

other than that everything looks good i think.
would i lose a mark for not writing the units in 12a)ii) ?
and in part 13ciii (parametrics), i only stated that y =/= 2a, i didn't say x =/= 0. would i lose a mark for this?
Well, that implies it so I doubt it.

nah because i didn't say y =/= 0 so it's not quite the same thing, it's like half the restriction
Ah, I see what you mean. I still doubt it though because if they wanted you to say that I think they would've asked something like 'describe the locus' to fk people over.

But then again, the test was pretty easy so they'll need to discriminate..

No, you won't lose marks for not writing the units.

For the condition, you won't lose marks because you've shown what the Q has asked for, whihc is that Q lies on a fixed circle of radius a.

Difficult to say for this one because there are so many different methods.

I doubt you would lose a mark for that restriction.

Trying to cram the other method of doing the locus problem into the gap on page 10, fingers crossed that it can fit!

just wondering out of curiosity, for the rainy day question would you lose the mark if you put 30c1 instead of 30c29? they're the same thing anywayso....

Is this 'other method' braintic's solution or subbing coordinates directly into the equation of the circle/showing SQ=a?
It was along the same lines as braintic's method. I added a bit more justification because students often don't understand geometric arguments for solving loci problems.

Nope can't cram it in, I'll leave it out for now until I can be bothered to add it in.

Carret, would this be accepted for the last part? Is there any place they can take a mark off?
