My grades were not very good tbh. For semester 1 2021 I had:

English- All A

Maths- All A and 1 b

Science - One a one b and 2 C

Geo- All a

Pdhpe- All a except prac

Commerce- All A

IST- All b

Compared to many others who would've applied, I think my science grades aren't good, considering its an important one.

For year 8 reports I had basically same amount of A's but for different subjects.

I literally had like 2 extracurriculars. Takewondo, I had a participation certificate in state championships. I also had for three consecutive years SRC

That's all tbh

damn, u get 2 more A's than me in subjects, I get A's for math, science and English, but I never manage to get an A for geo, or for pe, my teachers for those subjects rarely give out A's to people who really try hard.

but that’s for fort street and hurlstone, scimat got it for girra and Penrith so u cant rlly compare
isn't it easier to get into hahs than girra? (This is an assumption as girra is ranked higher)

Honestly it depends on how many ppl apply to the school and the type of ppl applying. Like extremely smart people might apply for hurlstone but not girraween. But the person who made it into girraween could be dumber as there are less brighter ppl applying for it.

When applying to selective schools, I’m pretty certain your rankings in each subject is more important than your grades. Since different schools have varying systems of grading and exam/assignment difficulty, it becomes fairly hard to compare applicants by the number of A’s and B’s alone.

Congrats! It will definitely be a huge step up in terms of overall difficulty and competition but remember you were accepted because the admissions department believe you have what it takes to succeed at Normanhurst, so you don't have anything to stress about.
