Hi,
I'm looking to get into UNSW medicine and am trying for a 99 ATAR. These are the rankings from my semester two report. I go to a top 50 school and I've put the number of band sixes from my school last year in brackets. Please note I'm doing 12 units.

English Adv 38/185 (17 Band 6s)
Chemistry 9/95 (15 Band 6s)
Biology 4/85 (17 Band 6s)
Physics 4/81 (13 Band 6s)
Mathematics Extension 1 58/114 (40 Band 6s)
Mathematics Extension 26/66 (18 Band 6s)

What ATAR am I looking at realistically given these ranks stay the same through HSC?

i would say 97-98 atm

unless your rural/EAS you need minimum 99.5 atar for UNSW Med (based on past years) - regardless of what ucat you get

I think I've heard slightly lower like 99.3 ish granted that was 2020

Well aware. It's honestly what hurts my maths marks the most. Not sure how to address it since they happen the most under time pressure. Which is way more common in 3U maths

do timed papers (even with shorter time limits to increase the pressure) and then find every single mistakes you make, and then consciously write down in a page/book how you could've avoided the mistakes. its a pain, but it works really well, ive pretty much stopped making silly mistakes in exams

my english adv cohort has more than 50 people and my school rank is in the 400s

no but its okay bc u have rural adjustment factors

my schools eng faculty was really stingy about who they let into the top eng classes and i was in the normal classes
i got adv and i'm beating/equivalent to the ppl who were in those classes

wait u guys have separated english classes?? wtf

in junior years they separated it and now it's just by hsc course (ext eng also gets an exclusive eng class or whatever)
