I don't think anyone's arguing that an Iranian attack wouldn't be beneficial for trump

but it wouldn't be so great for the rest of America especially whatever/wherever that gets attacked

It's a tough one - I mean, difficult choice for Donald Trump with some good arguments either way. Personally, Id stay out of the Middle East entirely, not worth the effort. Some people (Israel, the entire Arab world) are addicted to conflict.

He is in a tough spot, I actually feel for him it would be a tough decision for any President even the conventional ones. Either way, there are negatives. I think the bombing route is the path of least resistance because it's low risk and it isnt boots on the ground. I get the feeling that DT didn't even want to do that - I feel like he was lobbyed hard by very powerful interest groups (I have so much distain for the laws enabling lobbyists, especially in the US but also in Australia).

Personally, Im very anti-interventionalist with the Middle East - I take the view that it is a them problem and the West should for once stick to harsh words and nothing else. If you go back into history, the West has meddled in Middle Eastern affairs since WW1 and consistently it never works and more often than not backfires. The juice isnt worth the squeeze.

Exactly, people talking about WW3 are taking this too the far extreme. If this is as far as the US goes, then honestly I think the conflict remains fairly contained.

Honestly, foreign policy decisions are best judged five years from when they happen. If the bombing truly did cripple Iran’s ability to make a nuke, then it’d be seen as a good thing, but I doubt. One thing that hasn’t stood up under scrutiny is Trump’s decision to leave the Iran Nuclear Deal in 2018, which is how we landed in this situation to begin with.

The British and/or Americans could have ruled the arab gulf completely and indefinitely and controlled trillions in oil, but they chose not to. The idea that the west has unfairly treated the middle east for the sake of oil is laughable.
