Usually only 3 or 4 is enough because dont forget it’s not a big essay but an extended response . As far as not being sure of the topic I suggest you supply your own definition so the marker sees your opinion even if not the one they expected . When discussing …….. responders can interpret it as …..

short answer always, you get 10 minutes of reading time at the start, if you read all the texts, then do you essay, well say bye bye to 10 minutes cause you're going to have to read them again

guys i just did my paper 1 and did my unseen texts first

honestly i think i butchered my first few questions cuz i wasnt in the like vibe of answering unseen texts but once i got into it, my analysis was pretty respectable. expecting a 2/5 or 3/5 for the big ones tho. i got through my essay well too afterwards, solid low B essay.

one of them was CRAZY like "the world ended. her son died. the mountains look cool" like gurl-

and another one was about two girls and i interpreted it as one of them being a scary ass ghost who wants the other girl in this idk malicious way (the question was literally "show how this creates unease and tension") but turns out everyone thought they were just lesbians
let me tell you the realisation like 3 hours after the exam omfg

Oh my god I got the same questions BRUV I’m so glad it clicked to me that they were lesbians but I didn’t write it I don’t know I was like they were having an intense conversation or smthng and they were like deeply in love and the audience was engaged cause they wanted to see if they were going to pursue their romantic relationship or keep it platonic cause of societal expectations and stuff and I think I don’t even know how that relates to whatever the question was asking but ya stupid question and I thought like this was a taboo topic so it was so unexpected and I didn’t know how to write ab it cause I bet my teachers homophobic

I mean I think that question was only like 4 marks so the most we can lose for interpreting wrong is 1 mark but I feel like they shouldn’t have had it in the first place. My English teacher would call me dumb and stupid if i asked cause she said she expects EVERHONE to get full marks in the reading section. And yes that’s a great plan I just am not gifted w the ability to memorise essays so that’s not going to be me but I hope I can still do okay
