I don't see why not. But usually you want to work from a starting point because you wouldn't want to make the assumption that the equation is true.

I wouldn't worry about it too much though, as this is more of a maths ext 1 problem. It is unlikely something like this would be asked in HSC Physics.

tbh im just using google lol, my latex is tweaking out so bad though and it keeps deleting everything i write

Overleaf. It's like HTML. Much better than regular word processors in terms of styling and professional documents.

ive just been trying to push myself to use latex recently so i don't struggle as much in university if i find myself using it. but perhaps for a question like this it might be more convenient to do it by hand haha
