    Can we eat during lectures?

I used to always eat in lectures when my timetable was a bit hectic. They don't mind if its quiet food (nothing crunchy). Like a muffin bar or something would be good. You don't want it to be an entire meal though. We've had people eat all their lunch in tutes. Lecturers are people to...

Is it possible to not go to lectures and still do well?

There's no reason why you can't do just as well without lectures. Pretty much all the information is covered in readings and many of the classes have audio lectures. Saying that I still think lectures are beneficial. For me, after reading pages and pages of stuff it all sort of filters away...

Transferring after completing non--law component of a law degree?

Theoreticaaly you should be able to transfer at any point. When you transfer across you are enrolled like a first year, you only get your units recognised if you apply for advanced standing. If you have a great ATAR and do well at uni it shouldn't be too hard.

    Une 2011!

I'm already here! I like it, i've been to two other unis (with this degree) and UNE is my favourite. Armidale is a bit of an aquired taste, and not all aquire it, but its a very easy place to live. You get used to the weather but if you don't like the cold your stay in Armidale may be a...

Can someone help me with something?

I'd go to USYD. Fees are exactly the same for every university in Australia. The only thing that might cost more is accommodation around the area - or travel costs to get into uni everyday if you live close to one. TBH I don't think people really care where you got your Arts Degree from...

    Asians in UNE

Hey B92. I'm currently studying Arts/Law but to be honest I am finding it very blah. I did a year of Arts before UNE and Law isn't really for me but I am really enjoying the university. Wright Village is... Well it started of really great, I was put in with a wonderful group of people and...

    help! is this possiable??

When transferring to another university they take into account your marks for transfer if you have done a full-time year's worth of study. It does not matter what course or university you do it at - for the purposes of transfer all courses/units are equal. Internal transfers can be different but...

    honest opinions

I wouldn't even really call Wright Village a college. With D&S I just meant that they don't seem very into it. Like Earle Page, Duval, Austin, Albies are always saying how great they are, doing things with all their college and really getting into it. D&S just doesn't seem that into the whole...

Can anyone briefly explain how degrees work?

I looked at your link and I think I know what is confusing you. In Australia local students only pay a contribution of their fees for Commonwealth supported place, and most students pay their contribution via HECS. So local students only pay a small part of their fees. Even if the unit is 6 x...

    What is double spacing?

If you have been asked to do double line spacing in your unit outline or something it generally means (as the above person said) extra spacing between lines. The easiest way to do this is to write your essay, highlight it all, go into Format/Paragraph and select double line spacing. Its pretty...

Can anyone briefly explain how degrees work?

I'll just answer these from an Arts view as that is what my experience is in. 1."Major" and "minor" are words to describe your focus at university. In an Arts degree, which is probably one of the most basic and standard degrees, most majors consist of of 8 units, with usually at least 2 of...
