I'd go with the Aristotlean tragedy theory. KL being a person with a high status and suffers a great loss of status. Also mention KL's inability to understand and value family relationships. One theme of King Lear is "Insight". He pretty much fails at that. Evercursed idea about drawing...

I reckon King Lear is too overrated... The only reasons we feel sorry for him is because of Cordelia and Kent's loyalty towards him, yet he is blinded to it. But I agree with family drama. It's his ignorance that pisses me off sometimes. It's quite fun reading King Lear. I love a story where...
