    Polynomial

    i used the hint and divided the pol by x^2, and then used x=cis@ , and by using X^n+X^(-n)= 2cosn@ x=-1/3 + [(squareroot8)i]/3, x=-1/3 - [(squareroot8)i]/3 x=1/2 + [(sqaureroot3)/2]i , x=1/2 - [(sqaureroot3)/2]i

    please help, parametric parabola question

been a while since i did parametrics. Here goes.... Sub the t's into x=2at, y=at^2 the two points are: P(6a, 9a) Q(-2a/3, a/9) Use the two points equation. (x-x1)/(y-y1)=(x2-x1)/(y2-y1) comes out to be 4x-3y+3=0 i think......

    Help Urgent!! Particle Accelerators

I want to know what particle accelerators do but can't seem to find anything anywhere! I've been searching on this forums, but the answers are very vague. My question is what do particle accelerators tell us about the structure/ behaviour matter? How do they do this? I've seen answer like...

    growth & decay

came across a confusing question. NO idea how to work it out. "a tank contains 100 litres of brine whose concentration is 3greams/litre. Three litres of brine whose concentration is 2grams/litre flow into the tank each minute and at the same time 3 litres of mixture flow out each minute a)...

    Photoelectric Effect question

Can anyone explain how to do these 2 questions? "An insulated lithium surface is irradiated with light of requency 7 x 10^14 Hz and photoelectrons are emitted until it acquires a positive potential of 0.7v. Calculate the work function of lithium in eV. Take h=6.6 x 10^-34 and e=1.6 x 10^-19"...

    Volumes Question

I can't seem to get the right answer for this question: The base of a certain solid is the region bounded by the curve y=x^2 and the line y=x. Cross sections of this solid by planes perpendicular to the x-axis are squares. Find the volume of the solid. I keep getting the answer as 2/5, but...
