I think the reasoning was that 1 could be added on the right side so that it can be the equality sign/and inequality sign, because n and k differ at least 1, where n is greater or equal to k and also n,k are integers
and then the equality sign disappears because you took out 3/4
But i think...
You might have to also consider the fact that last year's last question wasn't all too difficult compared to other years... So that could also have affected the cut off to being slightly higher?
Seeing as chemistry has more repliers, I'll post up here
As the title goes... would anyone know the moderation (general) of option topics for not only chemistry but also physics and biology?
Yeah, defs HSC will be harder not only in the content but also in the marking criteria. I nearly full marked both 3u and 4u in CSSA but i know i wont come close to getting a 90 raw in actual HSC tests
i forgot the reason my teacher told me, but esp in mechanics (resisted motion) we take into account direction and hence we do the absolute value thingo
this reason could be wrong, meh.
I guess my best advice would be: always to revise and touch up on math every now and then. You should do this not to lose touch with your application of knowledge of math to a question.
It would have been preferred that you have minimised your silly mistake by end of year 11 or start of year...
