Hi Im doing a double degree which requires me to do 96cps. However due to my study plan i might have to take 1 extra unit which will make it 99-100cps. Can i do more than 96cps? does the uni allow this?

Looks like whoever rang the fire alarm did not even have enough assessment marks to apply for a special consideration. pity those innocent ones...I can imagine how hard they studied just for that exam day.

for future semester people, these are the questions we had in 2010 final. Q1 Pricing of futures contract Q2 Valuing a swap. Q3 Can't remember. Q4 Binomial combined with zero coupon bond Q5 Put call parity, finding PV of dividends and other theory questions Q6 Designing a swap contract...

What sort of questions did they ask in the final? I wanna do 352 over 353 because I only need to study 5 weeks whereas 353 I'm tested on from week 1 to 13. Is the final very much tutorial based? or assignment based?

Even an actuarial studies friend I talked to after the exam, (she does acst+accg double and REALLY smart) she was worrying about failing like there's no tommorow. so yeah, it def. a hard exam...but pass isn't too hard as long as you answer all the questions! thats how we all passed I guess...

this has to be one of the hardest and trickiest exam I've ever sat at Macquarie. for me anyways. maybe I didn't study "hard" enough, but that 3 hours I spent felt like just hour and a half, and I literally had no clear answer to any of the questions there. yeah and it's true, no tutes or...

I got 29/30. Did very poorly I guess.. I think I got around 120-30/180 for my final. Really wish I get a credit...just don't want a pass!

yeah, I think I did enough too. Doesn't worry me really. I was enrolled in 352 but switched over to 353. I heard from a friend final exam for 352 was really hard. on top of that, I'm interested in the broad view of the finance industry, whereas 352 you only talk about managing portfolios...

yeah I think so. what I did was, when the new stock price was $ something( I can't remember the number now), I did $x e(R x 1/12), then used the formula f=-(So-Ke-(rt)) to bring back that K component. something like that anyways. I didn't include the dividend though

yeah, no greeks was sweet, cuz I didn't know how to do them :o and also, we had that 2008 mid-sem question again appeared on our final. that is...Q1 (b). I assumed it was ex-dividend when the question didn't mention anything about it...god..........

yeah for question (a) I got the prob as 11.xx%. I got it by 0.33xx times 0.33xx...just like u said.. and (b) I just said A-L=OE and put some stupid numbers there, I know i got that wrong for sure. and (c), issuing 1m shares at $2...didn't know how I had to use it with (a) and (b). I just said...

Man That question where it combined binomial and zero coupon bond was disastrous. Never thought Egon would come up with something like that. Still have no fkn idea..

I do not understand any of the tutorial solutions to the later part of the course. like wiener's, black scholes, greeks...I'm going through them now and its just hopeless. is it only me or does everyone feel it that way? and no, I got 56.xxx as an answer.
