    General Thoughts: Legal Studies

Yeah if it's a discuss you definitely have to give both sides. I gave three reasons for, three against and I was pretty careful not to include a judgement because you're not really supposed to in discuss questions. The 7 marks confused me, because if it was six I would say three for, three...

    Media

umm hopefully you known more than 2-3 cases for each topic lol! Unless you mean like each dot point. But I know heaps (like at least 10-15) for each of my topics (crime, human rights, consumers and family). Media, not so much...like 2-3 for each topic? They fit in more with the themes and...

NIGHT BEFORE THE EXAM - How's everyone feeling for modern history?

Yeah I haven't actually done any full practice essays, just taken the past questions and planned/written an introduction :L I'm a bit worried about not doing full length practices, but I have four exams this week so I don't have as much time as I'd like..

NIGHT BEFORE THE EXAM - How's everyone feeling for modern history?

just learning my historiography now. Let's face it: if you don't know it now, chances are you aren't going to know it by 9:25 tomorrow morning. But I'm actually pretty excited for this one, because I did surprisingly well in my trial, so HOPEFULLY that will carry through for HSC too :L

Which is better prep for english paper 2?

Option 1 all the way :) I don't mean memorising my essays, but I've been doing practice essays all day - timing 40 minutes, just to get into the swing of planning and writing quickly.

    Urgent: Misadventure/Medical Emergency

I mean people around your rank haha. Not mark.

    Urgent: Misadventure/Medical Emergency

Usually I think they estimate it on what people around your mark get. In trials the girl who was getting first in Modern had to leave midway through with a migraine, and because she was coming first they gave her the top mark for the exam as her mark. Make sense?

    Module C Related Texts

I hope not :L we did the justice game and I know three chapters really well, but don't know the others that well...not well enough to write about them in depth. But my teacher said he thinks they might, because of what they did with the critical study last year.

Hi NEED HELP BAD. PARAGRAPHS QUESTIONS

I do them in integrated paragraphs: Para. 1: Prescribed/related Para. 2: Prescribed/related etc. I sometimes have time for three paragraphs but I find two usually enough for a 40min essay.

help jst skipped entire section of exam

Then they'll count your extension mark. They take your best 2 units of english, and then your 8 best units - so if extension english is in those 8 then it will count. And all three sections of paper 1 count. My teacher is a senior marker and he never said anything about only 2 sections counting...

General Thoughts: English Paper 1 (AOS)

Um I think that the fact that the QUESTION said it had to be a central idea kinda makes it self-explanatory. I guess they figure most people can work it out? Of course it doesn't specifically say it has to be a central idea, some years they don't say that and they just recycle the same rubric...

General Thoughts: English Paper 1 (AOS)

Yeah I'm glad I didnt end up memorising my essay, it probaby would have freaked me out and I wouldn't have written a decent answer.

Anybody wanna make bets on paper 1 Theme?

Same! I know my first really, really well! But I'd rather be asked on specific poems than two related texts I think. Usually if they ask for specifics they include an excerpt so you can kinda make it up.

Question to those doing Emily Dickinson...

I know them well enough to probably quote a line or two from them, and it's pretty easy to make up an analysis... "This is a metaphor for belonging" etc. There is a chance they will - they did last year in the critical study for Hamlet, and heaps of people lost marks because they didn't know it...

How can you adapt Emily Dickinson's poems to a question on Global Communities?!

They wouldn't give a question that couldn't be answered by every text. It would be really hard for people doing Dickinson to answer that... Having said that, you could talk about "Letter" and say how she references the world in relation to nature - nature is her community. Communities are...
