    ATAR Lower than Calculators?

My ATAR was 0.85 lower than the lowest ATAR estimated (ignoring the +/- 1.30 on one of the estimates). I used several calculators, including Matrix, Talent100 and HSC Ninja.

    Post your 2017 ATAR below!

You might still get in. The cut-off is just the ATAR of the last person they let in that year isn't it? And I'm trying to get into Bachelor of IT too, just not at the same Uni... I got an ATAR of 72.50 which I'm sort of disappointed over but oh well.

I can live with my result. I'm likely still able to get into my desired course since I'm within this year's cut-off. I got ~70 and eligible for up to 5 bonus points at my preferred Uni. But I'm still worried. Fingers crossed.

I am sort of intimidated by all how everyone's marks are extremely better than mine. Highest I've got are Band 5's. Anyway congrats everyone!

    2017 HSC Marks Prediction Thread

Re: 2017 HSC Marks Thread 12 hours till marks released. Nervous. With how quick you were onto that I'd say you were just waiting that one minute till the clock hit 6? :p

    2018ers Chit-Chat Thread

Lucky! My local libraries don't seem to be registered with HSC Study Lab. (All good tho cuz someone else I know had paid for it and let me use it on their account) That's awesome! So lucky.

Which is better? A double major in one degree or a double degree?

Thanks! This has helped heaps and also given me a bit to think on.

Which is better? A double major in one degree or a double degree?

The main degree I want to get into is IT. But I thought having a Business degree wouldn't be a bad idea, considering I have a mutual interest in it. Initially I was gonna do a double major in IT (wish I could do all 3 majors!) I've been doing IT related courses since Year 7 (ICT was compulsory...

    Enabling GIFs for a friend

Do you need to be a member for certain amount of time then? I've so far not seen any GIFs in signatures so just assumed couldn't do it, along with HTML code in signatures? EDIT: Nvm just spotted a few people with GIFs in siggies. :P - I musn't have been paying much attention.

How to learn Computer Programming on my own?

I went to the website Codecademy to learn basic HTML and stuff... I'm not sure if its a paid thing though because my teacher had assigned it to us to do by ourselves. The other thing I learnt was Visual Basic. Microsoft gives Visual Studio for free. Not sure about any websites that might help...

    Same Sex Marriage Debate

I voted Yes. First vote I participated in but both my parents voted No. I don't see to big a problem with having same-sex marriage legal. But it's hard because kids do need a mother and a father (especially if the kid is the opposite sex of the two parents: Plus it can confuse the kid about...

Making Maths Compulsory for HSC students

Do this and I'd have dropped English in Year 12. At the moment the only advantage of English that I can think of is that it makes you think and sort of might inspire creativity or creative thinking. Anyway at least I now never have to do the English subject again.

Last movie you watched? And what you thought of it?

Roots. A movie about slavery on TV last night. Didn't watch the whole thing. I think it was really sad at most scenes. (mind i didn't watch it all - it was like 12 at night due coming back from my formal. Didn't go to after party either.) [I notice this is a very old thread. Doesn't count as...
