    I messed up bad

Nah you're fine bro. I got 40% in my first English assessment worth 25% of my internals and still ended up with a 95+ atar. I thought it was the end of the world lol. Not even. It's easy to be demoralised but switch your mindset to a realistic one, and see how many marks are left on the table...

    UNSW Subject Reviews.

ECON3208 Content - 7/10. You'll either love or hate it. The main idea of the course is to find a workaround to a violation of certain GM assumptions, as well as some advanced applied time series/panel data stuff. An extension of 2206 stuff, and a core for an emetrics major. Assignments generally...

Which subject to do first: FINS1612 or FINS2624

LOL I did it in sem 1 2016, and I got higher for it than 1612 in s2 2016 maybe because I'm more of a numbers/calcs guy, but also largely because the assessment structure in semester 1 isn't as f**ked. If I were you, I would check out previous course outlines and compare s1 and s2 - that's the...

    ACCT3563 is killing me

Thanks for the advice! Yeah, admittedly my habits are pretty bad (studied 8 hours for every final exam this semester - ended up sleeping at 4/5am for every one, definitely not a good idea. Won't be surprised if I get put on academic probation). What I've noticed is that people who did well in...

    ACCT3563 is killing me

I've seen some of your posts and you definitely seem very smart, just like literally everyone else at UNSW - it seems that everyone that does commerce (or at least most of them) has AT LEAST a 75 WAM, especially those students that say "I'm so fucked for my exam in 2 days, haven't even started...

    Calling all economics students

When I did ECON1101, 60-70% of the cohort received mark of 75 or higher. It's probably the easiest economics course offered and involves minimal maths (mostly common sense theory, and A LITTLE calculus). ECON1203 provides you with the core foundation for statistics, introducing concepts like the...

    Lol is anyone bored already?

Nah Invoker's alright, used HSC techniques to memorise all his spells haha. I'll never understand Meepo though, too much micro ._.

    Lol is anyone bored already?

Get a job lads, tutoring is good. Seriously, getting a job early on will help you on down the line. Jan-Feb is hiring season after all of the shitty casuals get booted. Find a hobby, learn an instrument, a language, a new sport, a new DotA hero and party hard (lol). You'll never have this much...

A collection of HSC Advice: What *not* to do

What? Of course you can rote learn Maths and 3U. Ever figure out why people do so many past paper questions over and over again? So that they can memorise the procedures involved in doing the f**king questions because the HSC recycles the same trash every single year. Most people don't even...

    Help. Bombed an exam

That'll align to a high e3 or low e4 due to 4U scaling. And no worries bud, #thereislifebeyondthehsc (seriously, there is.)

    Dropping a subject when you're 1st

One of my mates was coming first in a subject out of like 90 students and dropped it before Year 12 started. He still ended up getting 98+, getting into the course of his choice and is sitting at a high D WAM. If you don't want to do it, don't. It won't affect you in the long run (as long as you...

    Path to 95+

Gud ranks m8 (srsly, these ranks would be 95+ in any school ranked 100 or higher), unfortunately Year 11 doesn't count towards Year 12. Just study daily and before exams and you should be aight (basically repeat your Year 11 study habits, only this time, it actually matters). Good luck!
