Cost comparison of cellulose vs crude oil in the petrochemical industry

thats cos it is not practical at all so no one is doing it ... the cost of trying to make ethene from cellulose would make the polyethylene bag that your groceries are packaged in worth more than the groceries it is supposed to hold...(that is if the reactions to get there even exist) ... i...

    Developments in understanding acid/base reactions

if u go by the sullabus it wants u to detail lavoisier - "all acids contain oxygen" davy "acids dont necessarily all contain oxygen "[he identified HCL's components i believe] arrhenius "acids ionise in water to form H+ ions and bases ionise to form OH-ions" Bronstead /Lowry "acids are...

    Naming Compounds

*shrug* different naming convention to what we are taught to use ??? I always thought we had to name following alphabetical order and orienting the strarting position to whatever gave the lowest number to start with .... i would have called it 1,1-dichloro,2,2,2-trifluroethane

    transuranic elements and commercial radioisotopes?

My book says that Am241 is made by bombarding 239/94 Pu with neutrons --->241/94 Plutionium (unstable)---> 241/95Am + 0/-1e re it being transuranic hence difficulties comparing it to commercial isotopes ... i think the point of that is to point out that things like Co60 and I131 are not...
