I don't know if it was necessary, but I also noted that a second anode could be used to focus the beam. Sometimes electron guns have a second anode to 'brighten' the picture.

I also wrote that the increased efficiency of transmission led to lower costs, which would increase our dependance on electricity, leading to more overuse, yada yada negative externality this and that from economics :D

What would you have written for the question where they asked you to compare/contrast(?) the difference between the 1MW red and blue laser?
