I didn't do early entry through ANU, but I still needed to put down extra curricular activities. I basically put down participation in sport, peer support, debating + public speaking, school charity initiatives and that sort of thing.

Agreed. There are a lot of mechanics concepts needed to master all the topics, plus the drawing techniques you learn in preliminary study will be super important going forward for the HSC.

It's all over the news, but basically three victims, two 20 year old female students and a 34 year old man are in hospital, and the culprit is in police custody. This guy, Alex Ophel, also tried to kill five students in his statistics class in 2017.

Has this happened before in ANU's history? The news was quite startling and I'm honestly terrified. My thoughts are with the families and friends of the victims, and please stay safe everyone.

Last year's Caringbah High paper had some tricky Advanced English questions, and I couldn't tell you about chem or bio.

Honestly, I give up. You can memorise your essays if you want, but just be wary.

My case must have been different then because I always got very constructive, detailed feedback.

Well, if your teachers are good markers, they would tell you through handwritten feedback attached to your essay.

I always used to go in my exams having memorised just quotes and analysis and I never dipped below 18. I understand some people may not be able to write original essays on the spot, but it's so stressful having memorised an essay and finding that your essay doesn't match the question at all. So...

Often it's for tiny things, eg. you may have answered the question really well in one paragraph but not the next because you didn't elaborate on the textual conversation as well etc.

I wish I had this during my HSC. Would have made my life so much easier, especially because my teacher used to do problems from this book and he always went through the answers quickly without in-depth explanation.

Don't memorise essays... just don't.

I mean, bear in mind that English is subjective and you never know what markers you'll get on the day, so anything in the A range is highly respectable.

Stick to 3-4 quotes per paragraph, 9-10 or so quotes per essay for EVERY module. How the hell can you analyse effectively with so many quotes??? And I know I'm repeating myself from other threads, but I have to... DON'T MEMORISE PRE-PREPARED ESSAYS. It's the biggest English death-trap imaginable...

I myself wouldn't have such a collation prepared, but I mean, you don't have to print out the stimulus and question booklets. You can always look at them on your laptop as you're practising to save paper. And I would agree, THSC is your best source of practice papers, as well as BOS.
