So stuck about what to do this year :/

So ultimately you want to be a research physician. You have answered your question, you don't want to have a year off. Is it possible to transfer units from this degree over to USyd Adv. Sci.? If so, then it's probably better to continue. However, what do you plan on doing in your potential...

    Medicine Question

How 'badly' do you want to do medicine? If there is a will, there is a way. Chem or Maths are not integral to UWS medicine, if you study then you shouldn't feel any disadvantage.

How do i know if med is for me?

Try some work experience at a GP or get a Cert III or IV and apply for a job as a Medical Receptionist. Look for experiences in medicine. Be mindful that you won't get a full indication but the more experience the better. Why exactly do you want to do medicine? What concerns you about pursuing...

    Is UMAT tutoring needed?

If you don't like the idea of tutoring, then you've answered your question already. Like you said, it is a test. Like most tests I feel your marks can become better if you practice. I didn't have tutoring, but I had about 10 test papers which I went through in the weeks before. All the best

UAC PREFERENCES HELP Pathways to Med goodkarmaforu

Those are only from the people I know (I'm pretty sure there are more that I don't know) but it seems you do need to do quite well.

I want to get into medicine, What should I do?

I think most people get in from undergrad, and that undergrad is easier. Regardless you are at a good position if you know what you want to do now, better than me when I was in year 10. Study smart and goodluck!

UAC PREFERENCES HELP Pathways to Med goodkarmaforu

There are two people in my grade, that I know, who transferred from Adv. Sci at UWS. Both had GPAs of 7.0 so I would say that it is quite competitive. Goodluck

Is it worth lodging in a predicted ATAR for early interviews?

For UWS med, I think you need to write it on the A4 form. It might have changed from 2 years ago, but I was required to show my predicted ATAR.

What do you want to do as a Doctor?

It's good to see that there is a healthy drive to pursue a career in health. For those who are unsure, take what everyone says with conviction with a grain of salt. They might be right but don't base your decision to pursue medicine on their response. If you want to do it, try. If you are...

    Should I drop 3u maths?

I would keep at it: 1. It is one of the more robust subjects in terms of scaling 2. With 3u comes the teachers who teach it (who I assume will be 'better' with a easier to control class compared to 2u). 3. I'm not sure if you have realised but what tends to happen when you take 3u is that...

UWS medicine campuses vs UNSW campuses

Apologies for the exceptionally late reply. The degree is split into pre-clinical spent mostly at uni (2 years) + clinical in various rotations (3 years) = 5 From my experience, in your pre-clinical years they try and place you in the closest hospital. The hospital placements in the first two...

UWS medicine campuses vs UNSW campuses

After being accepted, you elect which hospital you would like to go to and the nice UWS staff try and give you what you want. From my experience, they try and place you at the hospital which is closest/easiest to get to i.e. you may live closer to mount druitt but you have a direct train line to...

What is the Difference Between Medicine in UNSW and UWS?

The difference from UWS and UNSW maybe more apparent in the future if UNSW changes its medicine course to MD, which potentially allows it to be recognised in the US and other countries where doctors graduate with MD not MBBS. http://www.med.unsw.edu.au/medweb.nsf/page/MD That said, completing...

    UMAT Study

You should be able to answer that question yourself. Do you learn better when you cram a few days before or when you study consistently? For UMAT, it is important to have a fresh mind on the day. A lot of Section 2 will be discriminating between synonyms so learn your definitions. Practice...

What is the Difference Between Medicine in UNSW and UWS?

The difference is the ATAR is a cut-off for UWS but a threshold for UNSW. Once you get an ATAR of 95 (or w/e it is this year) then it is 'discounted', and potential students are selected for an interview based only on their weighted UMAT scores. In contrast, selection for an interview for UNSW...

    im sick and tired!

What year are you in uws med?
  17. S

UMAT preparation that won't break the bank.

Combine with your friends with similar ambitions to get practice papers. A tutor might be cheaper but you need to find a good one.
  18. S

should i have fo with UMAT starting from now (is it too late?)

Why are you even asking? just do it *nike*
