    Abandoned Uni

Hi all, Long story short I abandoned Uni a couple of years ago, I just moved away and did not bother to unenrol. I was excluded from the program due to getting 0 for all the courses during the semester I abandoned (did none of the work), which was the second semester I'd failed more than 50%...

International Business, is it really useful or not?

The IB courses I've done have been interesting and I can see the usefulness in them. They teach you about the different business cultures and philosophies. That said, I'm not sure how skilled you come out as in terms of getting a job in business...obviously you get the language. I've only done...

    Myer - commission?

Does anyone here work at myer in a sales role selling things like laptops and other electronics? I'm interested to know what sort of rates & benefits you get (commission, spivs, store discounts, double time etc...). Also...does anyone actually buy this sort of stuff from myer? or do you get like...

Best university for economics in Aust???

In terms of undergrad, you can get 1 on 1 time with honors/phd students if you have any economic q's at ANU and this is in addition to lectures/tuts. So I'd say in terms of undergrad teaching it's very good too.

    Bored Aussie invite?

Hey, I was hoping I could get a bored aussie invite off someone here. I'd rather not post my email out directly so if you are willing could you please just give me a PM. My friends all just joined but we are 1 invite short (mine :( ) so it would be much appreciated if I could get one here...

    Economics in HSC & Uni

Doing HSC economics before Uni will just mean it's easier for you to pass the first year economics courses. You're definitely not guarenteed anything though as the Uni courses are more worried about you applying the economic concepts than memorizing them like in high school. So it's a slight...

    UAI Cut-Offs: 75 up to 85

It's just the way Australia is, there's no huge benefit or culture in terms of moving away from Uni. In the future as Uni's develop more there probably will be. At the end of the day the uai cutoff doesn't matter a whole lot. If you tried your hardest and got 75 uai, you're probably going to do...

Is Law/Actuary Studies degree really hard?

Everyone I know who enrolled in actuarial/law transferred out of it after a semester. They got through it but found they would rather just prefer one or the other, and transferred into combine programs were the degrees actually complimented each other. So if you do come to Canberra, keep in mind...

    macro 2 q

yeah what vagabond said... since the price of gold only tripled after he made the bracelets, the increase in price didn't affect the cost price of the bracelets.

Published UAI cut-offs: CSP or fee-paying?

Depends what disadvantage leniance policy you're talking about. If it has to do with your UAI I doubt they consider it after a year. At the end of the day whilst UAI requirements at ANU are lower, I doubt if you tried your hardest and just scraped a 75 that you would be able to pass a lot of...

    Is this common???

Go to some eng/comm lectures, see if it interests you more. If it does transfer into one or both of those at end of the semester. If they don't interest you then I suppose taking a semester or year off would be the best suggestion. The only other thing is a lot of people don't enjoy their Law...

Do we need a laptop for classes?

I don't think you can do aerospace engineering at ANU :O

Do we need a laptop for classes?

You don't need a laptop for class. Macbook Pro's were like the best value laptop you could buy in Aus earlier this year, not sure if that's changed.
