    "Mum, dad... I am gay"

In the end it became so obvious of my sexuality that I didn't need to tell my parents I was gay, only until I brought my boyfriend over for dinner it was made pure and obvious. I guess even more obvious when he had to sleep over and mum came in the room to open my windows when he was lying in...

The blasphemy laws have been relaxed as a person may charge people for blasphemy if theyre religion is Invisible Pink Unicorns or Flying Spaghetti Monsters would be able to make a motzah out of the courts and religion is a messy heap of crap that is hard to define anyway. Muhammad Cartoon Controversy

I'm sick of the do-gooders in the community who are wanting dialogue, when it is already apparent that the two ideologies are incompatable in the Western World. I have read into Islam and have an outline of what its requirements are and it seems that it can never be innovated without some sort...

    Muhammad Cartoon Controversy

Exactly, I don't particularly think it is a good ideology to work in practice inbetween issues about women's rights, apostasy, separation of church and state, homosexuality, pornography, slavery and freedom of speech and expression. But neither is Christianity, but at least most of it has been...

    Abortion debate

I think that women should be the ONLY people to make an ultimatum, male politicians such as Tony Abbott have hijacked this debate have no idea what it must feel like for the woman and use their religious values to further hinder the process.

    Muhammad Cartoon Controversy

I doubt it, as it was a LOCAL paper that was unintended for people overseas and it may have been created for people to see how stupid and pointless religion is. If i had made pictures mocking pink flying elephants would it prompt such a violent backlash for people who claim they believe in that...

    Muhammad Cartoon Controversy

I don't see how the cartoon is critical of Islam itself, only Mohammed who seems to be connected to it as its prophet but he is NOT Islam. And you have to admit that it is impossible for his parents to be Muslims as they died before he even started hallucinating and writing the Koran (apparently).

Yes it does, 15% or so of the Israeli population are Muslim (meaning they have full citizenship) and there are significant Druze and Christian populations in Haifa. While I am not a big fan of Israeli policy in particular, its right to exist should remain.

    Muhammad Cartoon Controversy

Because it was the candy bar that attempted to lure tribes into the religion, their contempt after was muted because they knew they would suffer the severe consequences. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lounes_Matoub This guy was one of the first to take a stand against it and suffered the...

No, because the most common resolution was convert or die, for instance when the Arabs conquered North Africa. A very interesting pecularity about this is the Kabylie people to this day are quite non-religious in pious Algeria but have to keep quiet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kabylie

The difference here is that Anti-Semitism is racism, while the cartoons did not particularly show any racism, only it broke the Islamic rule on aniconism. But it depends on the cartoon's interpretation which can lead to many interpretations.

This article also angers me in how people are wanting to take the moral "high ground" increasingly these days. http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/mums-tattoo-leaves-air-crew-redfaced/2006/02/06/1139074171403.html
