    Ask the Staff

Ta for the reply :). A new friend of mine is an ex Cotton On manager and she said the same thing basically. I would hate to work in such a high traffic store. We rarely have stuff stolen unless people bring in pliers to get the security tags off. Gotta watch the thongs too, they can't be...

    Rules for Customers

If you're going to be a cheap arse, then at least don't make a song and dance about it when I tell you the price of something. I don't make the prices, the company behind the brands we represent determine the RRP's. Don't swear your lungs out at me when I tell you a pair of boots are $79.95...

    Ask the Staff

I've been wondering why some fashion retailers have security tags on their clothing, and others don't? I work in fashion retail and we tag EVERYTHING (though some people have ripped security tags off and stolen in the past, but that would probably rip a hole into the garment). I think I was in...

    Rules for Staff

I know, and I'd usually be able to predict who has what shift, but my boss has been changing things around lately... oh well

    Rules for Staff

Dear my lovely boss, Please give me my roster on time and don't assume I know automatically when to work. I normally work on Saturdays, but you didn't want me to work on Anzac day but didn't tell me. That's fine, I assumed that and had to contact you to confirm if I was working (it would have...

If UWS had of kept the name Chifley University, do you think it would carry less stigma?

    Repeating Semesters

No, they do need to be repeated if you want to pass them, it's just because they're an elective you can choose a different subject to complete instead. You'll still need to complete and pass 240 credit points for your degree no matter what.

Anyone knows how to make a title page?

Some styles of formatting or referencing (APA for example) require title pages on essays and reports (not to be confused with the cover sheets universities require to be submitted on assignments). It's best to look up a style guide for requirements for the particular subject you're doing. Sounds...

    Repeating Semesters

It would depend on if the subjects you wish to repeat are in offered in Summer or Winter sessions. If the subjects are core subjects, you'll obviously have to repeat the subject and pass to be have it count toward your degree. I was looking at subjects offered in Summer and there's not much on...

Faking Your 120 log book hours

Because I took forever in getting my log book hours up too. I agree that I deserved to be suspended. I very rarely speed and if I do it is usually because of a lapse of awareness of my speed which isn't cool. But before the incident that day, I was nearly rammed by a truck on the F3 which is...

    Depression?

Re: i don't know I have suffered with depression and GAD for a while now. I was diagnosed when I was 13 (I'm now 20), but I remember having suicidal thoughts as far back as 11. While it wasn't diagnosed, I also had troubles eating and starving myself, which still continue today. The depression...

    the pill

I've been off the pill for 8 weeks now and the two natural periods I have had have been incredibly painful, the current one so bad I have been unable to function and have thrown up from the pain. Needless to say, I want to go back on the pill as my periods were much much better. Do I wait to...

Faking Your 120 log book hours

Night hours are easy to do if you work in the night-time...otherwise just drive to a party or something. Heaps of my driving was done at night. Anyway all of my hours (70) I did legit. I'm glad that I waited until I was older to sit for my P's as well because I felt way too immature and...

The worst job you've ever had?

Re: What was the WORST place you've worked at? Old hag describes that floor manager perfectly! She was on such a power trip, it was insane! I wasn't even her employee, just a contractor. When I walked out of the store crying I vowed to never ever take a shift there again, thankfully they didn't...

The worst job you've ever had?

Re: What was the WORST place you've worked at? Probably the worst job I had was one of my promo gigs...12 hour shifts over Christmas in Myer in HIGH HEELS handing out perfume samples and encouraging people to buy the brand I was promoting... It was an ok job, great pay and conditions, but the...

How did you quit your job?

The first job I quit I just spoke to the manager and said I couldn't handle two jobs and studying and wasn't settling into the position there well (I hadn't been there long). She was understanding and I offered to give 2 weeks notice but she said I didn't need to. The second job I was less nice...

    No friends at work?

I'm quite good friends with the other girls at work, we've attended each others 21sts and I'm going to the city with them on Monday as one girl is going overseas. I'm not as close to them as they are to each other as I'm still a bit new, but I'm getting to know them and like them all :D

Jobs other than retail/food sector for a HSC graduate?

I work in promotions as well as retail, and a lot of students tend to also. I mainly do commercial stuff like handing out leaflets and samples, spruiking, sales and events hosting, but others can do alcohol promotions, automotive grid girl stuff, public speaking, promo modelling (like posing for...
