After 2011-13 Year 11-12 subjects will look like this:

Far out, all I can say is, thank heavens I'm graduating this year!!! I have always been supportive of a national curriculum, but on the basis that it very closely mimicked NSW's!!! And how is it totally 'national' if it only covers some subjects? Or each state/territory has it's own education...

What do people feel are the most effective ways to memorise your monologue?

So, what do people think? I'm just curious for ideas. :) I find just reading it a few times, then going away, and coming back and trying to see how much I can remember without reading off the page word for word helps. Then once I have that mastered, getting up and attempting to 'perform'...

    30% prelim in HSC??

Yeah, I know it scales bad...kinda sucks. I'm only doing it coz I need to get like at least a band 4 to get into primary teaching apparently...grr! But it still is unfair, like you said. :( Trust me, I'm working my butt off year 12...just I'm so over year 11...it's only dragged on for so long...

    30% prelim in HSC??

Anyone else heard of this?? What I find unfair is that my maths teacher has said she's gonna transfer marks for our last 2 prelim chapters into our HSC marks. Not cool, not cool! Coz I'm just doing the bare minimum work to get year 11 genny maths over and done with so I can start the year...

So, I've got my idea...but where to go now??

So, I've got my idea, and I've got my medium. If anyone has an idea how to make a series of people with all different stories (yet share the fact that they are dependent to something/someone), somehow all connected...please feel free to express and share! I really am enthusiastic about my...

How many units do you do? Anyone do 14+?

Yes, that too! Another thing about me dropping economics and doing 4U English was the fact that I want to go on and be a primary school teacher. And I figured I'd be more likely to teach children fundamental English skills rather than how the economy is and how supply and demand (blah blah blah...

How many units do you do? Anyone do 14+?

I did 15 in my prelim year. This year, I've dropped economics and taken on 4U english. So still doing 14 units. BEST CHOICE OF MY LIFE HOWEVER!! Ext 1 and 2 English have less class time together than economics, which gives me a few frees a week. Because I love English so much, it's not very...

    Tips and Help Please :)

A few tips from me: - writing out summaries...you're revisiting the information yet putting it into your own words, and usually condensing it! - making a study timetable, and attempting to stick to it as much as possible. - taking on the advice of students gone before and trialling their...

    2009 Preliminary Yearlies Discussion Thread

re: Preliminary Yearlies Discussion Thread Epiphanies are excellent things. I did my economics exam yesterday. And I turned to my friend at the end of it and said, "I'M QUITTING IT!" As much as I love it, the exams for it are suck-all... And I really want to do 4U English and 3U history. :)...

    reading/english

In advanced this year we've read 'Animal Farm' and 'Othello'. In extension we've read 'To Kill A Mockingbird' plus other short stories, and currently we've been given 'The Catcher in the Rye' for holiday reading. And unlike most people in both of those classes, I've enjoyed all the books. :D

    What learning style are you?

I'm apparently very visual...however I like to dispute this just a little. :P If I get shown a new way to study, I'm eager to try it, and sometimes it just works. ;-)

    Prelim English Extension 1 worries

I'm doing prelim. ext. English...and let's say this: a lot of the time, it is a bludge, however, our teacher can be a little zany and when she's stressed or a tad bit frustrated, she'll get a bit stuck into us and make us do some work when we have the class for 2-hrs every Monday. If you don't...
