I would personally go for the Whitlam dismissal because it has a lot more historiography, and it's not as recent as Keating. Focus on the historiography of the dismissal rather than the actual history, this is what markers like to see as historiography is the main focus of the Extension...

In a word, no. My school doesn't even let you drop to 10 units, it's really not the wisest decision. It's your 10 best units (including English) that will count towards your ATAR, so in my opinion, it's always good to have at least one "back up" unit, should you bomb out in one of your subjects...

They recommend you have Music 2 and Grade 6 Theory/Musicianship, but it's not a prerequisite. Quite a few people I know have gotten in without them :)

Ok well there mustn't be a Grade 8 Theory but there is definitely Grade 8 musicianship because I've read the syllabus for it. Not too familiar with the Theory course... :P

Well I do Musicianship but I'm guessing it's a similar situation to Theory... Nobody does Grade 8. I don't know why, they all stop at Grade 7. There is a Grade 8 for Musicianship, but nobody seems to do it...I really enjoy Musicianship and plan to continue on with Grade 8 after the HSC...
