I agree. I went into cash office a few weeks ago at the end of the day (around 6.30) to pack up tills, and noone had been in there since about 4pm ish. I noticed a message that had been there since around 4.15. Now obviously nothing drastic had happened and I'm sure it was an accident, but...
tbh i think at times phones would be more efficient, but i do see what you're saying.
One thing that I've noticed with this whole 'supervisor on the floor' movement is that a heap of phonecalls are being missed, because the supervisor is nowhere near the service desk and the supervisors in...
pathetic little bells on approx half the registers ;)
and there's a button on the screen that you can not-so-discretely press to call a supervisor, but i wouldn't be relying on that.
I gave a stack out yesterday and yours wasn't there :(
I'm working on the pile of cards every time I'm in cash office - there are people who started in October last year who have only just got their cards this month because noones been telling them they're there.

dear customer
i understand that you're pissed off because you think we're scamming you and all. but don't stand in front of my eftpos terminal so noone else can use it, and then get angry when i ask you to step two steps to the left.
thanks, me.

that was me last week :p
i've been really sick today, i've had a super bad migraine since yesterday so all i want to do is puke when i eat.
hot chocolate, roast potatoes, plain rice crackers, water.
At my induction, they just gave the SDA form to us as if it was any other one. It wasn't explained that it was optional AFAIK, so everyone just 'joined'.
That particular day there would have been one produce assistant on the floor, and possibly someone in meat - thats it. Everyone else was on checkouts.
I just remembered that I forgot to sign keys and draws in last night, oops :haha:
