    HSC for sale :(

my school didn't have anything like that. and the ethical component is obvious... but firstly, if they're willing to pay they obviously don't care about the ethics of it. And secondly, any other students will feel pissed off and think it's unfair... but would they know?

important for workers and those looking for work!

ok so basically it's impossible to prove you ever worked for a small company like that, let alone that you worked set hours. In big companies it's easy... there are copies of rosters, and head office has the rosters too. plus there are always people who've seen you there and can verify you were...

important for workers and those looking for work!

that's what i thought. the chances of recovering lost wages that way must be pretty slim. The employer would just deny you ever worked there. Though i have to admit that when i was working (woolies, myer, swot shop) i always kept records of the times i'd worked and check them against my pay...

    HSC for sale :(

yeah there's not really much apart from expulsion that they can do. yes, all they can do is fire the teacher, but that won't stop her doing it. Sounds like you can make better money doing that than teaching. And to townie, i don't see how the school can pass on the student's academic...

    Tom Cruise cops a soaking

there's a thread in NS on this. pointless, but funny. They should have done it to someone even more annoying than him though.

    Formals (yr12); Semi-Formals (yr11); Socials (yr10)

some people think it's a big deal. other's don't. it's really up to you. I thought it was a big deal cos it's the last event with the whole grade and i wanted it to be great. (yes, i was also on the formal committee). As such, i put a lot of effort into the whole formal thing.

important for workers and those looking for work!

technically yeah you should be able to. But what i don't get is how you can actually prove that you're working for a company and that you've done the hours you're claiming to. Unless you keep some kind of a log or journal, and even that means very little.

important for workers and those looking for work!

where exactly do you work? is there a dedicated cash office or personnel dept? Cos if there is you won't need to involve your managers. otherwise request your pay slips. That's the first thing to do. They have to do payslips and that'll tell you whether or not you've been paid yet. If there...

no, don't know what it is... i'll tell her mother to check it out. and back to my original question... how do you prove that you have worked for the company? if they pay cash in hand, the dude could really easily say that she's never worked there. to illusionz: Did you give them your TFN...

    HSC for sale :(

yeah i guess... it's just so annoying!!! but then again, it said that a lot of the clients were from selective schools, who wanted to do better than the rest of the students, so a fair few of them are not going to go on and run family businesses.

important for workers and those looking for work!

i never realised that this was illegal. My cousin's first job was as a receptionist with a swimming company. She worked for 4 weeks without getting paid a cent, she gave up and quit. Now she's working at maccas. Then again she said the dude was a total sleaze and kept trying to come onto her...

    HSC for sale :(

yeah i know but that 5 points could mean the difference between you getting in and not getting in.. i guess that it wouldn't help in a lot of cases... but if you're getting a lot more than an extra 5 uai points, then seriously how well are you going to do in a course where the competition and...
