No, it's not the ranking of the school. well, at least i hope not.. i always had this weird notion that it depends what kind of papers the school used for its trials... i mean, that if a school had really really hard trial papers and a student got a mark in the low 80s and in a another school...

I got mine reprinted! But that would be because the school lost it, not me :haha: But prelim reports are not that important if you're finishing year 12 and getting a HSC

your not really at disadvantage. more like in a dangerous position. because if you screw up a subject, then it still counts toward your UAI. but i reckon if your 10units doesn't include extentions, then you should be fine. if your the type that never fails in a subject, then you're pretty safe...
