RE: Transfers and ADVANCED STANDING at UNSW

Hi, I just received an offer for commerce / law at unsw and I was wondering if anyone has gone through the transfer process and how many of their previous subjects received credit ?? I am transferrring from UTS and worried that some of my subjects will go to waste, even though they are from...

Transferrring from UTS law to UNSW law

Hi, I am going into my 2nd year of business/law at UTS and I just received an offer to study commerce/law at UNSW. I was just wondering if there was anyone out there who may also have made this transition and has any advice for me? In particular, I was wondering if the structure was noticeably...

hi, I read your post on an old forum about how you transferred from UTS to UNSW law. I am currently at UTS and have received an offer for UNSW and I'm looking for advice. Is the difference between the law schools really that noticeable? I currently live about an hour and a bit away from UTS...

    Law @ UTS v Law @ Mac

Yeah, some of the ones I was reading were a bit older. Like 2004. And then they ended up being like battle of the egos over whose uni was better. It was pathetic really.

    10 or 12 units ???

It really depends on the individual. Are you going to be able to keep up?? Especially because you're doing 3 sciences, subjects which tend to have a larger workload. Plus, depending on what calibre of student you are, physics is a really hard subject to get a band 6 in (from what i hear...

    Law @ UTS v Law @ Mac

Hi all, I am tossing up between studying law at UTS or law at Mac in 2009. Of these two, is there a uni in which the law course is significantly better? Is the PLT program at UTS particularly advantageous?? From where I live, UTS is about an hour by bus, and Mac would be a 20 minute drive. But...

    Quick Answers To Some Questions!

Naw. Shit. I get you. Hah. I effed it. And by "it" I mean the whole exam. Oh well. There's always 3 unit. I'm gonna go hang myself now. Edit: Thanks to the beauty of transcription errors I'll probs still get 3/4 hah. Life is worth living again. Oh wait. I just realised I have 3 more...

    Quick Answers To Some Questions!

    Yeah I used the geometric too. But my a was 50. Because 60 is 1.2 times 50. So my intial term was 50. 50 x 1.2 ^(8-1) The answer was 179 to the nearest mm For part two: 50 x 1.2 ^(13-1) gives 445 whereas 50 x 1.2 ^(12-1) gives 371.5 So n = 13 times

    Quick Answers To Some Questions!

Nope. That's mincorrect. hehe haha ho ho. It's thirteen times. The original poster [lightning9t] was correct. I tested both 12 and 13 and 13 generated an answer larger than 400 whereas 13 did not.

    Easy Question 10 or Easiest?

Shit. For 10 a, I made one of my boundaries 5 instead of ln5. Bugger. Btw, what justifcation did you use for x being l/rt2 ??? I had something pathetic like the ratio of x to l had to be greater than one otherwise the gate wouldn't intersect. But I know it's wrong.

    Easy Question 10 or Easiest?

I wouldn't say question ten was easy. It was pretty challenging question. Especially for the 2 uniters. Plus, I've seen easier ones in past papers.

    "Hell Week"

Exactly the same thing here. Eco is probably the biggest obstacle right now. I would complain about it, like I have been all month but after reading this thread I'm sure there are people who would trade places with me in a second.

    Multiple choice answers

Yeah but that's the right of the government to acquire other people's property on just terms as long as they provide compensation. I remember my teacher telling me that. It's not necessarily an individual's right to property. However, section 80 secured the right to trial by jury for...

    2008 HSC Timetable

How crappy is YOUR exam timetable?!? This is the thread for people who want to whinge about how crappy their exam timetable is. Maybe we can find out who had the worst time table and it can make the rest of us feel better. Haha. I'll get the ball rolling. Mine haven't been too bad so far...

    Multiple choice answers

This is long, so i bolded the questions, so you can only read the ones relevant to you. Here are a couple of things that might help clarify a few questions: I'm pretty sure the answer to question 5 is (B). Because I don't think the right to property is a fundamental right. The right to...

    Multiple choice answers

With question 14, I put (a) because the rule of law means nobody is above the law. The fact that the government has gone and done something illegal shows the rule is violated. omg. the multiple choice is always really hard. and if your teacher wasn't sure how can the Board expect us to know!

    Multiple choice answers

I was thinking long and hard about question 10. Just because a country doesn't have a democracy it doesn't necessarily mean that the law is unjust. You know what I mean? Just a meandering thought.

    Multiple choice answers

These are the ones I'm not too sure about. I put: 5. B 7. A 8. D 9. B 10. D 11. D (i was thinking along the lines of the application of the rule of law results in natural justice and procedural fairness. but dunno, because then that would make C an option. damn) Out of those answers...

Thoughts on CSSA Physics 2008 Paper

Hi randoms. I too thought the paper was quite good. The mirror/Einstein/thought experiment question was just bizarre. I just talked about how if you couldn't see yourself then you would be able to tell that you were in an inertial frame of reference (which is impossible). That westinghouse...
