Hi,
I know that most of the Uni's residential colleges run extra curricular program's in drama, theatre and creative arts and I'm after opinions about which of the colleges has the best program in this area.
Meant main round...good luck (just so you know, unless you did second year subjects in the second semester of your first year you won't be able to get a double major in your other course [eg Arts] once you transfer into law as you'll be doing a minimum of two law subjects per semester so as to...
You should get an offer in the first round.
Last year a minimum ATAR of 98.6 and Distinction average (GPA 6.0) was required to get an offer in the first round and your ATAR and GPA exceed both of these.
For more info it's worthwhile checking out...
For future reference these were the number of places offered in combined law by USyd and UNSW including transfers:
Round _________Usyd ___ UNSW
Main round:_____ 258 ___ 245
Early Feb round:__24 ____ 28
Re: UAC Offers 2011 - Downloadable
Love you work ajdlinux!!!
I'd also be really interested in seeing a list of the Early Feb round offers if it's available.
Not sure about your proposed transfer but with a transfer from straight Arts to combined law you do 4 law subjects in your second year as well as Legal Research I and another 4 law subjects in your third year as well as Legal Research II. By the end of your third year you have caught up to all...
Rhodes: Putting things into perspective if the 2011 NRSL rank to transfer to combined law at USyd was 97.5 as you have said, this equates to successful applicants needing an ATAR of 99 with a base distinction average of 6.0 GPA. (97.5 x 2 = 195 - 96 (GPA 6.0 ATAR equivalent) = 99). If the...
USyd takes 50% atar + 50% gpa OR 100% gpa. Using the first method even if you got a GPA of 6.5+ your average score would only be around 96.6 (93.7 + 99.5 = 193.2 divided by 2 = 96.6). However you'd have a very good chance on your GPA alone
hectoras: Congrats and well done
izzy88: The reference to "assured" was meant to convey "a self assurance" an applicant may have derived from the information provided on the Law School web site and not a suggestion of assurance from the Uni. As the statement on the Law School website seems to...
Rhodes: I had the same GPA and a 98.5 ATAR and missed out too.
I am here, trevhk & treblaC: Congrats to you all and best wishes with your legal studies
Hectoras: would really like to know if you made it given your ATAR of 99.15
In conclusion USyd's School of Law website statement "...
Thanks.
Given the current USyd website statement - “Experience suggests you require at least a Distinction average in your tertiary study and a UAI or equivalent over 96 in order for your application to be competitive" it would be interesting to know when it was that an applicant with a 96.5...
Just wondering whether USyd uses WAM or GPA for assessment of internal transfers from Arts to Combined Law? I have a WAM of 79, a 2010 Atar of 98.5 and a raw GPA of 6.1
