Chemistry (most and least favourite topics)

Never really learnt my option well, so I'd say I don't like shipwrecks. Content wise, chem seems alright beyond that although the questions they give is a whole different story...

Heat of combustion HSC question Help!

You convert the kJ/mol into kJ/g. So we find the molar mass of butanol, which is around 74 (I think). Then to change from kJ/mol to kJ/g we divide by the molar mass. It might be easier to visualise if we write out the units like an equation. (kJ/mol x mol/g = kJ/g) note that if we replace a...

    solubility rules

I managed to memorise most the solubility rules by memorising (and rote learning) the processes and steps in cation and anion testing (oddly enough). I did quite a lot of questions (HSC and trial ones) just to memorise it decently. But if you want to memorise it the other way, being starting...

    Dat circle geo

Apparently some of my friends said it was easy, saying it was "textbook stuff". I felt really smart after doing the question :D probably because I've never done much questions where you had to construct something that was not hinted at in the question.

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Extension 1

Was anticipating some crazy ass question to have combined two horrible topics together like they did in 4U. Wasn't that bad of a paper, although binomial took ages for me and I couldn't finish the last bit of the last part of the newton's method question. Could've been harder.

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Extension 2

I just found the area of triangle using 1/2 ab sin(x) and multiplied it by 4i. Then I expressed z and w in mod arg form and found the LHS. It then equalled in the end.

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Extension 2

I did. Find all possible ways without the restrictions and then find the number of ways there would be 5 or 6 people in a single room. Find the difference and that should be the answer.

That still is a rectangular hyperbola isn't it? The asymptotes cross at right angles and e = root 2

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Extension 2

Felt pretty good considering I got bored last night and tried to tackle the Q1-12 of the Carrot 4U paper... Conics and mechanics... they had to put two of most algebra heavy topics together in one question. Made the question so damn tedious :( But I reckon a good paper overall

I think that is pretty much how you answer it, like how you SV and CO benefits performance due to more blood which means more oxygen and nutrients. And yeah it was worded a bit differently, cos normally we see something like what are the effects of aerobic training on SV and CO.

Is it better to type or hand-write notes?

What I did with notes is hand write and then type it up. It makes you go over your notes twice and because of this, you can edit it and cross reference with a study guide or two if needed. What I'd recommend is in class (and in free periods if you have any), try to get as much written notes done...

    Thoughts?

I think you could link acclimatisation a little bit to convection (acclimatise to cold water and wind e.g. in triathlon, swimming). But then again, you couldn't link this much to fluid intake. But yeah, it felt like a cruel question...
