There's not really a difference for accredited undergraduate degrees. Employers aren't going to care which GO8 you went to.
My advice, go to the one that is closer. Much easier to take the 20 minute train ride than the 1 hour trip.
OP make sure you're taking your advice from the people who have actually experienced uni.
Personally, I'd recommend taking X1. If you don't, I'd recommend a bridging course during the summer before uni starts. It's not impossible to go without it, but the X1 stuff they go through for revision...

You should be looking at the first year courses. Most of the stuff in MATH1131 is pretty basic and repeats things from extension units. Partial differentiation, vector algebra, ODEs, matrices are all covered in first year.
