what does it mean by form of expression, does that mean how my circuit has been designed? is protected? because to protect my design wouldnt this be the best method? (note it is only a design , not an actual circuit) maybe not , but can you just clarify form of expression

Sorry i have a question it sort of relates to circuits so i thought i might as well ask it here for a designer of a circuit to protect a circuit "design" , what would be the best to use? a patent or copyright?? and why? i really dont know the two terms seem very similar to me... thanks
