Sleep patterns - Late night study

don't deprive yourself of too much sleep cos it really fucks you up. don't consume any caffeine after midday and NEVER stay up past 11pm studying for an exam the next day, esp. for non-essay subjects like maths or exams that involve tricky multiple choice. why? sleeping actually makes you...

    UNSW or USYD

actually usyd media &comm is a completely diff course to unsw's. unsw one is more about digital media/computery stuff whereas usyd is more journalism/PR stuff (from what i understand- there have been threads about this before but i cant be bothered to find them)

History ext or ext 2 english?

History extension (both the major work and the course work) is really good preparation for doing humanities at university, even if you don't actually continue 'history' itself as a subject at that level. It is v. interesting as well. The major work isn't really as much of a big deal as everyone...

How can I get into law?

you can do grad law @ unsw part-time after your first degree and from what i can see they don't take UAI into account. it's a long way of going about it however. http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/programs/2005/4791.html

    Everyone's a Journalist nowadays....

let's face it, nobody's going to get their information solely from random people's internet blogs- the primary source of information for most people would still have to be tv and/or radio, and sometimes newspapers. people who learn about news/current events from the internet do so...

How can I get into law?

as a side note, I think it's strange that you say that you got a "shitty" uai of 78 because you didn't know what career you wanted to pursue- a lot of people who get 99+ UAIs don't know what career they want either so it's not really an excuse. I wouldn't say that 78 is a shitty UAI though- it...

    Unconsciously high-ranked schools.

if you're in about top 1/3 rank for all your subjects at one of the top 5 schools, you should be able to get 99+ UAI if you cane your actual hsc exams. even in top half of the rankings, you should be able to get 96+.

Top Uni's For Various Areas of Study

yeah, personal achievement would probably count for more eg. person with first class honours & heaps of experience in subject x from uni #50 would look way better than person who just passed x with no experience fron uni #1 etc.

    Bachelor of Arts ???

arts (languages) is a 4yr degree with a semester or year overseas i think, and i'm pretty sure that the uni pays for you to go there as well. you have to major in at least one language arts is a 3yr degree with no overseas requirement and you don't have to major in a language. (but you can if...

Your opinion on degree to transfer to

you can do govt subjects instead of arts. which would give you more room to do an out of faculty major (ie. psych). it might work.
