    taht 2 tube question?

Oh gosh I just realised I did the whole KI1I2l/d>mg, but instead of saying I1I2=I1^2, I said I1I2 = 2I1. Smart.

The "OMG I've Finished the HSC" thread

Done! I Don't Have To Pick Up Another Book With Information In It Until March Next Year!

    SDD all males?

I'm a girl! I go to an all girls school, and we had four in our class last year and three in it this year. But we sorta did it online, coz the class size was too small. So we had half the periods with the teacher and the other half just with work she set us that was posted on the internet.

    Which option topic?

I just realised after that I left that question out! But I was thinking about it, and you could probably use functional for a calculator application. You'd need to use a GUI/event driven language for the user interface, but for the actual calculations you could use functional.

    That sorting method

Yeah, I pretty much did this, too. Except I didn't have a third array, I just kept expanding the one I was inserting into. I did that too! Pretty much exactly the same, actually. I was initially going to do an insertion sort but then I changed my mind to bubble because you couldn't really...

Max / Min Number of Cartons.

Haha breezy i agree about the four page booklets being a silly idea. I sat down and went "you're kidding me, right?" I ended up with five extra booklets. Granted they aren't cover to cover, but still, there's five of them. Especially because the lines are extra big - my algorithm for the merge...

    Which option topic?

Bugger me, I just realised I left 24)b)i) out. Three marks down the drain! How could I be so blind? What was the answer btw? I was a bit annoyed at this option topic, got the logic out fine coz I like prolog (and MarsBarz you're right btw, even if an ancestor has a son, to be defined as an...

    Multiple Choice

I'm not sure about Q6, I was tossing up between B and C, I put B in the end but I could easily be convinced for C. I screwed up Q13, easiest thing in the world - I put D . Stupid girl, 3 isn't classified as a digit! For question 7, I put (b), and as far as Sam Davis and I are concerned, it's...

    Raw estimates

Hmm, well I'm hoping for 90+, but my encapsulation answer (language option topic) was a bit dodgy, and some of my multiple choice answers were probably wrong - made one glaring stupid mistake with the BNF I'm hitting myself on the head over - digit doesn't include a 3, stupid girl!

    Gender Bender...

OK, so I was looking at some statistics on the Board of Studies site, and it said that last year only 10% of the students doing SDD were girls, so my question's simple: To you people doing SDD, are you a guy or a girl?

    55 Minutes Late

I'm going with nwatts on this one. For all of you saying that typing is faster than handwriting, well yes, it is. *That's the point.* One of my best friends has a laptop for her exams, because she writes insanely slowly. I've seen her try to write, and she can only do two, two and a half A4...

    2003 Hsc

Hi, I was trying to do the 2003 HSC and I'm a bit stuck on 22 b)ii). Is the answer that line 4 should read "WHILE System_on" and the implication is that if you leave it like it is now the whole thing won't work because there's no such thing as Switched_on?

    few quick definitions needed

Wow, this is a really old thread but anyway... A guarded loop is the same thing as a pre test loop, because the loop won't happen unless the initial condition is met, hence it's guarded. I'm not so sure about a counted loop, but I'm guessing it's a loop that happens a specific number of...

    HSC solutions

Does anyone know where I can find solutions for the Ext 1 HSC exams for 2004 and 2003? Because I've printed the exams out from the Board of Studies site, but they don't have solutions, just marking guidelines and marker's comments. And I don't want to do the exams without being able to look at...
