Personally, i'm quite disgusted with the whole convention of guys trying to act macho and crap and list 'hardening to fuck up' amongst their top priorities, thinking they can be as emotionally detached and egotistic as they want, as long as they're being 'masculine'. Jump off your high-horse...

What can I say - I'm a pretty passionate geek when it comes to some things:p That particular example was only half serious though. There are plenty other movies (as already mentioned) where it would be more appropriate to have a bit of a sniffle. Though, in general I usually end up being waaay...

Yeah, i've been considering doing the same thing (having already completed one year) but I seriously doubt i'll be able to find a suitable job in time to make the most of it. I should've planned taking the year off in advance and been working throughout the holidays *shrug*

I got roped into joining another team with some old acquantinces who needed someone with an access card. I'm pretty sure I saw you guys at the marking today...if you saw some guy being forced to do a certain kinky act with whipped cream, yeah, that was me -_-

I spent like an hour looking for the archsoc stall...and I was supposed to be manning it. Stupid planners moved us from a prime position to on the outskirts facing the road. There should still be oppurtunities to join if you're interested.

Yeah, I tried that, but see, since I have a clash with the third lecture of your stream it won't give me those times. But if the lectures are going to be the same I might be able to just turn up to the different times anyway, like I did in maths last year. Can anyone else provide any further...

Hmm, those times for the chem lectures would be much better for me, at least the monday and wednesday ones. Would anyone know if you have to go to the same stream for all lectures or could I say, go to the above times for the first two lectures then go to my allocated time for the third lecture...

Yup, its either the current set up or move the chem prac to thursday and have a 6 hour block. My timetable is proving somewhat resistant to all attempts to change it :mad1: Still, maths stuffed up my timetable even moreso last year.

Well that would depend on whether you also have to get up at 5 in order to make those classes like I did last year. Pretty damn shite indeed!

Well they differ from club to club. The only example i know off hand is Sutekh where, for example we can get free beer and half price pizza at certain events. People who pay the admin fee instead of joining the union don't get these subsidised offers.

I'm not going to be involved in the mentoring program itself this year unfortunately but I will be going into uni anyway to get my student card etc. So keep an eye out for some weird guy walking around by himself with a stupid hat :p

Yup, that sounds about right. I'm pretty sure that non-usyd students can join up too but they'd have to pay the admin fee as well. Plus in both situations you wouldn't have access to the union perks within those clubs.

Keep an eye out for the guy in the Aragorn costume and sandwhich board...I still can't beleive I actually signed up for that :rolleyes:
