Attention all music students. What's your instrument? What are your influences/genres you like to play? What level do you consider yourself (beginner, intermediate, experienced, professional etc)?

For the person above, sorry. I've got no idea.

But just for the record I'm a baritone vocalist. I'm into popular and rock music e.g. Coldplay, The Killers etc.

I haven't had any professional training but I am in love with music.

I hope to create musical masterpiece(s) for the HSC performance exam(s).

I'm a pianist, but ive also had a crack at g'tar clarinet and violin. The instrument i most want to learn though is viola.

Ive been playing piano for 3 years (since year 8) and im doing grade 7/8 this year. Im playing an amus piece for my core perf. in music 1, though im not doing elective performance cause i want to focus on composition in uni.
I have done some industry stuff, and played at WYD this year aswell as another festival and some huge masses (4 schools, few thousand people), so I do have some experience. I also act as vocal coach for the school's vocal ensemble, even though I can't sing though lol. I learn from the conductor.
I like all sorts of music, though Ive been looking at alot of minimalist music, especially Hallelujah Junction by John Adams. Philip Glass and Steve Reich are also on my list.

been playing violin for quite a few years
started with piano when i was 3 and moved to
violin when i was 7

i passed my LmusA with dist. for violin this year..
and i would guess I'm about grade five for piano

i already did my pieces for hsc..
music 2: vivaldi: the four seasons autumn accomp. piano
music ext:
ensemble i did por una cabeza
(violin teacher + muffin man occasionally on bos + hired a cellist)
two solos were Bach - virtuoso bwv 1006
Mozart Cadenza 3rd movement K216

obviously i prefer playing classical..not really into other
genres..

Drummer here, only drummer in my class makes me cry. Due to the fact that i have to play for every single performer in class that needs percussion.

hey.

im a guitarist (electric). undertaking the 09 HSC. Ive chosen to do my core perf. aswell as 3 other performances. anyone else doing the same?

but yeah, my influences;
anything from pete murray -> lior - > jack johnson -> ben harper.
also, anything ranging from The Living End -> anti-flag -> a day to remember -> static x -> fall out boy (older stuff) -> MCR

i kno, not the best styles, but am hoping to pull something major off for the 4 performances.

btw, im the only guitarist in my year, no drummers, one bassist. so im gunna hav to rely on some of my mates that dont attend my school. this should b fun (N).
