What are the reasons FOR doing 10 units in the HSC and AGAINST??
Please explain in as much detail as possible thanks!

I am currently in year 11 and doing 3U eng, 3U maths, economics, legal studies, IPT and 1 unit SOR. I'm doing quite well in all of them with all rankings in the top 10 of our year (out of approx 175) and I'm planning on dropping legal and taking up ext 2 eng next year. Should I drop both legal and IPT and go down to 10 units for my HSC or drop legal and 1 unit SOR and do 11 units??

The same question is constantly on my mind. So far I plan to either drop ext. eng and have 11 units, or pick up 4u math and have 12, or drop both ext eng and another subject in conjuction with picking up 4u to have 10 units.

I'd say..Just keep at what you're doing now. Maybe later on down the track you'll find that you might start to dislike a subject etc. There's still some time left before you make that decision. Ultimately though, in regards to whether 10 or 12 units is better is dependant on the individual.

Hope you're well. :)

For - Back up, incase you fail your other 10 units
Against - Extra work and not able to spend a lot of time on a subject... say eng or physics
Against - If you hate the subject :S.

Not saying the against part occurs to everyone. Most people maintain 12 units pretty well. But I dropped music because I genuinely hated it...
