2)describe a mechanism in an aus animal to ensure fertilisation

there both 2 marks so can someone just give me a brief answer for both

For 1, you can suggest that molecular techniques have allowed us to look at nucleic acid sequences, and therefore, deducing evolutionary relationships.

For 2, you can talk about either extermal fertilisation (many amphibians) or internal fertilisation (most mammals).

I need help for number one as well but the question specifies that it must relate to an Australian animal e.g. the platypus.

Can anyone help me?
