the notes with regards to the 2003 major works are available on the web from

http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/hsc_exams/hsc2003exams/pdf_doc/english_ext_2_er_03.pdf

those of you who are wondering what exactly they are looking for, what they are after and what they want to see you doing should check this out. much of it is irrlevant, but it is divided up into sections depending on genre.

Except they are always pretty similar to previous notes from the marking centre....

Isn't it interesting? For Critical response, film (duh!) and speeches, there are exactly the same number of candidates in both 2002 and 2003.

The increasing number of candidates (which most accountable for the increasing number of students taking up this subject) would be in the short story category!! A sharp increase of 392 candidates from 2002 to 2003. As for video, there is also around 30% increase in the number of candidates in that particular category. The number for other mediums between the two years are pretty close.

you know it would also be interesting if they would include the performance bands for EACH category!
