2012 HSC Engineering Studies examination
Question 24 (d) sectioned assembly view.
This question was really hard to interpret, because the examiner has not indicated on the pictorial drawing where the section plane is supposed to go.
There was a missing dimension as well. The external diameter of the boss is missing. I estimated it to be 40 mm dia.
I have assumed it is a full section, using the centre line.
I have followed exactly the detail given in the text about the five holes in the gear, (even though it looks wrong).
Can someone check my answer to this question, please? BTW, I'm happy to be told I'm completely mistaken.
